Contemporary Art Exhibition “Forever Never Come”
The Maremma Archaeology & Art Museum (Museo Archeologico e d’Arte della Maremma – MaaM) hosts a large and beautiful contemporary art exhibition until 26 January 2018. Guided visit in the historic center of Castiglione della Pescaia
On 26th or on 30th December 2017, meet the guides of Cooperativa Le Orme at 3pm at Piazza Garibaldi, in Castiglione della Pescaia. Exhibition of Ancient Coins
Admire the coins that were minted in the 1300s in Tuscany. The exhibit includes all examples of ‘monete massetane’ (local coins) for a full immersion in Maremma’s history. It takes place until 31 December 2017 in the Complesso Museale S. Pietro all’Orto in Massa Marittima. For more information visit coopcollinemetallifere.it
Symbolic race “Running with Baby Jesus”
This traditional, non-competitive race takes place every year on 24 December in Porto Santo Stefano (Monte Argentario). A group of runners transport the statue of Baby Jesus from the Convento dei Padri Passionisti all the way to the Church of S. Stefano, where they arrive at midnight.
Christmas Golf Pro Am
Argentario Golf Club hosts its yearly Christmas Pro Am on its spectacular 18-hole golf course. Pros and Amateurs from all over Italy meet in Maremma on this occasion, and an increasing number of foreign golfers are also participating in this prestigious competition with 10.000 Euro in prize money. Living Nativity Scenes in Monte Argentario
The sea villages of Porto Ercole and Porto Santo Stefano host beautiful Living Nativity Scenes in their historic centers.
Presepi di Montorsaio
The village of Montorsaio (Campagnatico) sets up different nativity scenes around the historic center. One of the most striking is the one located in the main square, made with artisanal terracotta statues that have the faces of local inhabitants. Also, don’t miss the one in the Church of Compagnia di Santa Croce with moving statues.

Morellino Classica Festival
The NYE Concert takes place on 30 December 2017 at 9pm in Teatro Castagnoli, in Scansano. This is the last event of a long series of concerts that are part of the Morellino Classica Festival, organized in the most fascinating venues around Maremma. New Year’s Eve Dinner, Party and Fireworks in Porto Ercole
